Continuous development of the Original Prusa i3 MK3 and MK3S leads us to the enhanced and improved Original Prusa i3 MK3S+ released on November 24. 2020 and announced on PrusaPrinters.org
SuperPINDA is temperature-independent, it features a much higher quality sensor and better quality components overall comparing with the P.I.N.D.A. v2, plus, it does not need a thermistor. A combination of all these enhancements ensures the first layer will always be spot on!
We now have a new set of metal clips for the MISUMI bearings on Y-axes. They are easier to mount and provide better support for the bearings. X-axes belt tensioning mechanism was reworked and X-end plastic parts reinforced. Extruder changes provide better printability for flexible filaments.
MK3S+ includes all the cumulative upgrades from the entire life cycle of the MK3 like genuine Gates belts, textile sleeves, a new Einsy case for easier Raspberry Pi connection, an anti-rust coating on smooth PEI sheets and, of course, dozens of firmware and plastic parts enhancements.
The Original Prusa i3 MK3/S+ is the "Best 3D printer" according to All3DP.com and MAKE: Magazine, where MK3/S+ also received "Editor's Choice" as the highest-rated 3D printer in 2019 Digital Fabrication Guide. The MK3S+ features a rebuilt extruder, numerous sensors, and various smart features. Plus, a new magnetic MK52 heatbed with a replaceable PEI spring steel print sheet. Dozens of various tweaks and upgrades improve the reliability and ease of use. MK3S‘s functionality can be further expanded with the unique Multi-Material Upgrade 2S addon for printing with up to 5 materials simultaneously. Below, you can see some of the many 3D printer awards Prusa Research received.
The most significant features of Original Prusa i3 MK3S+
The new MK52 Magnetic Heatbed holds a replaceable alloy spring steel sheet with a PEI surface. You can choose between two types of sheets - smooth PEI sheet (default option) and textured powder coated PEI.
With the MK3S+ we are introducing the reworked Y axis from
The previous sensor didn’t work well with some specific filaments. The new sensor is using the optical sensor which is triggered by a simple mechanical lever. This sensor doesn’t care about the optical properties of the filament and cannot die because of mechanical wear.
Thanks to the new Trinamic2130 drivers and Noctua fan, the MK3S+ is extremely quiet in the stealth mode. But the MK3S+ is quieter than 99 % of the available printers, even in the Normal mode. In normal mode, we have also increased the travel speed. Now you can achieve up to 200 mm/s!
Have you ever tripped over the extension cord and lost a 20-hours print? MK3S+ will save you! The printer can fully recover from the loss of power. It detects power interruption and shuts down the heatbed and extruder heating. After restoring the power, you can continue with printing.
Thanks to completely reworked extruder changing the nozzle or PTFE tube is easier than ever before. As a bonus, the nozzle and the extruder motor is much closer to the X axis, this means less resonance and better prints too. MK3S is also better for printing from flexible materials.
The new EINSY RAMBo motherboard with Trinamic drivers not only makes the MK3S+ silent but it also can detect skipped steps and layer shifting. This is a big step forward in the reliability of the printer and the user comfort. You can say goodbye to ugly prints!
The extruder has now upgraded with Bondtech drive gear. It grips the filament from both sides, increasing the push force and making the printer more reliable. This is useful
E3D V6 is market-leading all metal hotend well known for its high-temperature performance. The MK3S+ utilizes a

With 3D printing, buying a printer is just a beginning!
Assembling the kit is an excellent first step to the world of 3D printing. You will understand the principles of printer construction and get a huge advantage when you need to solve possible problems and replacements later.
But don't worry. Assembling is quite easy! You don't have to solder at all to build our kit. You don't even have to own a soldering iron. All our cables are cut to length and with professionally crimped connectors. And from the electronics standpoint, the hardest thing will be plugging the connectors to the motherboard.
All of this makes the kit very friendly to younger builders :-)
We didn't want to leave anything to chance, so our assembly instructions are pictured to the smallest detail.
See the assembly manual for yourself!
All fasteners and mechanical parts have 1:1 drawing so you can easily find them, and there is no chance of you picking a wrong one. You don't have to be MIT graduate to assemble our kit ;-)
Our fastest customer built the kit in 4 hours! Will you beat him?
We provide high print settings with the printer, so you don't have to dive into complex new programs the second you finish the build. You can start printing right away, and this gives you a great head start!
These settings are great for all kinds of objects, not just for a couple of prepared showpieces. After a while, when you're familiar with the printer, you can, of course, dive into tinkering ;-)
We are developing our own slicing software. PrusaSlicer is a feature-rich, frequently updated tool that contains everything you need to export the perfect print files for your Original Prusa 3D printer. But of course, we also have the settings for the third party slicers like Simplify3D, Cura, etc
One of the most popular features of Original Prusa i3 concept is upgradability. If you buy our 3D printer, you can upgrade it later to the new version, so you don't need to buy the whole new model every two years as you get used to for example with your phone or laptop. :-)
Upgrades are a great way not only for saving money, but also to learn about the construction of the printer's hardware. We are constantly improving our technology. A few years ago there was the Original Prusa i3 3mm which was upgradable to the Original Prusa i3 Plus 1.75mm (MK1). MK1 printer can become MK2S thanks to the next big upgrade and then you can go even for the latest MK3S+ (or MK2.5S if you wish).
Our discount program for the Original Prusa i3 kit owners gives you a 5% discount on subsequent orders of selected filaments, including the high-precision Prusament!
How does it work?
To enter the discount program, you only need to purchase your first Original Prusa i3 kit for the full price. After the i3 kit is delivered to you, your Prusa account automatically applies the 5% discount on the selected filaments. So next time you'll be stocking up on filaments you can take advantage of the 5% discount :-). Make sure to be always logged into your Prusa account, to have the discount applied.
Original Prusa i3 MK3S+
Multi-material could be your next step in the 3D printing world and MK3S+ is completely ready for the upgrade.
BTW: Do you know, that you can easily print soluble interface supports with

Great kit instruction manual, and the first print was exceptional. Amazing value, with really clever engineering.
The only thing I'm not crazy about is the z-adjust. Bit too much guesswork.
Would certainly buy again.
Prusa MK3S Kit
If you want a printer that just simply works right out of the box look no further! I was blown away with quality and ease of printing not to mention support! This is a machine that simply does not fail. If you follow instruction manual from prusa you will not be disappointed. I own more expensive printers I will not mention any names and my MK3 s blows them out of the water! just recently finished 100 hour print with no fails! There is no words to say how well this printer works. No wheels to adjust to bed and fight with that first layer Etc just simply slice and print. Another bonus prusa is constantly improving on their firmware and they do have live show every week with new options very well explained.... there is no other printer in this price range that will do what prusa can!
Now I understand what the hype is about.
I purchased a Prusa i3 MK3s kit during the Covid 19 lockdown. I built it in a weekend, and it has printed perfectly since. Now I understand what the hype is about. Highly recommend paying a little more for Original Prusa. You will be glad that you did.
Fantastic Machine
I was impressed from the time I opened the box. The assembly instructions are great, and the end product works perfectly. Well done!
Phil Bell
So happy with this printer! Great fun to put it together and works so well and efficiently that ive ordered a second one!
I just cant wish this 6 week wait away quick enough!
Nearly perfect
Very happy with almost every aspect of this printer. The design is solid and very well thought out. Print quality and speed is on a par with, or better than, many more expensive machines. Building the kit was also a joy as instructions were very clear and easy to follow.
The one thing I don't like is the mesh bed levelling. Despite taking care to get the frame as level as possible I could not get a smooth first layer, not even with the 7x7 points mesh. Some web searching told me I needed to do some test prints and set the bed level correction values. I get why this isn't done from factory but it really should at least have been mentioned in the instructions. After upgrading the firmware to v3.9 it did get a lot better but I'm still not not a fan of the PINDA probe as it keeps me from using any build surface I like.
Having said that I think most people are gonna be very happy with this printer regardless of experience level.
High Quality Generally, Textured Sheet is a miss
I got my MK3S kit, and the build was interesting and fun. It is clear during the build that much thought went into the design, and the components are generally high quality. The Textured Sheet, however, should not be the only sheet you buy. It has problems with PLA prints detaching mid print, and is more of a specialty item. I can't get the Benchy on the included SD card to print w/o detaching, a poor initial experience. Looking at the forms it appears this is fairly common. If you buy only one sheet (US customers avoiding the $800 limit) start w/ the smooth one.
It's Worth Waiting For
Ok, I get i at this point it is 5 to 6 weeks to wait for a printer. I was saying the same thing when I ordered mine, Do I want to wait that long to get it, so in the week it took me to decide to order it I was now going to wait a extra week longer instead of just ordering it when I started looking, and don't think in that last week I was not thinking if I had just ordered it it would be here.
So is it everything I wanted yes and more, that being said there is a learning cure yes but you can be assured that these printers are running on their print farm 24/7.So that being said I looked at every problem in that frame of mind and everyone was my fault they are not going to be selling these with a bunch of problems they will fix them.
I have printed pla, petg, tpu, tpe, abs and soon nylon it has worked great on all of them.
Ok lets deal with the next problem the price yes you might think it is high compared to a ender I have a ender 5 does it work yes is the quality as good no, the main reason is linear bearings or rubber wheels running in a extrusion bearings out do rubber wheels and that is a main part that convinced me to go this way. The other, upgrades new machine comes out you want to upgrade you can
So buy it you wont be sorry
Amazing print quality and easy to use!
I assembled the printer in about 8-9 hours over 2 days (life gets in the way sometimes). It felt a little overwhelming at times but if you pause, breath and read...it all falls into place. I already own a Tevo Tornado and I have to say the Prusa i3 MK3S is freaking unbelievable! The auto-calibration is simple and accurate. The on the fly Z adjustment is easy and very effective. The Prusa is built like a tank. I've printed 8-9 things so far and have not needed anything to help with bed adhesion. The magnetic bed sheets make removing prints super easy. I'm very excited about trying multicolor printing, My MMU2 is unfortunately is still back ordered. I can not recommend this printer enough. Thank you Prusa team!
over 2000h print time...
... and still everithing is working. just some easy maintainence from time to time. checking if the srews are still tight, removing dust from the fans, adding lubricant and running a selfe test. i am supper happy
