SuperPINDA probe features a hiqh-quality sensor for a fully-automatic Mesh Bed Leveling process. Before every print, the MK3S+ probes the bed in several places and creates a virtual heightmap of the print area. This process ensures that the first layer will always be spot on!


The MK3S+ features a new set of metal clips for the genuine MISUMI bearings on the Y-axis. The belt tensioning mechanism on the X-axis was reworked and the X-end plastic parts reinforced. The filament path in the extruder was altered for better support of flexible filaments.


With all the cumulative upgrades from the entire MK3’s life cycle on board, the MK3S+ is the best version of our award-winning 3D printer so far. Spring steel sheets are easy to maintain and make removing the printed object from the print surface a breeze. We offer three types of print surface: smooth, textured and satin to cover all your needs when printing from a wide range of different materials - most of which do not require any special separation layers or surface preparation.

The MK3S+ features an aluminum extrusion Y-axis assembly. Thanks to the milled dural frame, the MK3S+ is stable, rigid, and easy to assemble. Combined with our internally developed extruder featuring Bondtech gears and the E3D V6 hotend, the MK3S+ can print high-quality objects up to 210 mm in height.


Thanks to the SuperPINDA probe, the MK3S+ can use the Mesh Bed Leveling process to compensate for microscopic imperfections of the print sheet, and inconsistencies caused by the assembly and stacking of the manufacturing tolerances of various parts. Achieving a great-looking first layer is quick and easy.


Are you afraid of a blackout ruining your 48-hour print? Worry no more - the MK3S+ can deal with that! The printer can fully recover from the loss of power and continue printing exactly where it left off. It detects power interruptions and shuts down the heatbed and extruder heating, and saves the last known location.


The MK3S+ further enhances the reworked extruder from the MK3S. The built-in filament sensor uses a reliable trigger system, which detects whether a strand of filament is inserted into the extruder. It can detect any type and color of filament and is not susceptible to mechanical wear.


Thanks to the Trinamic 2130 drivers and super silent fan, the MK3S+ supports the stealth printing mode, which makes the printer extremely quiet. Even in the normal printing mode, the MK3S+ is quieter than most 3D printers on the market. In the normal mode, the MK3S+ can achieve a print speed of more than 200 mm/s!


Our internally developed multiplatform slicer comes with in-house made and fully tested profiles for all of our 3D printers and a wide range of filaments. Awesome Device, Great Project

Doing the assembly myself was a very satisfying way to learn about 3D printing. I'm not an engineer, but I like to tinker and this project was a great investment for me. I took 14 hours and 30 minutes, but I was being very careful because I wanted to be sure I knew what I was doing with each step. You have to be patient and careful, but it's an enjoyable accomplishment to get it all together and start printing. This is my second 3D printer, and it's a big upgrade. The quality, precision and size of the prints is impressive. I've got a lot to learn, but I'm really excited about it after about six weeks post assembly. I highly recommend this product and the project - but be prepared for it to be a big project.

Goodbye Ender 3 Pro, Hello Prusa i3 MK3S!

I performed dozens upon dozens of upgrades on my Ender 3 Pro like Direct Drive, BlTouch ABL, SKR Mini V1.2 and Touch Screen, etc. No matter what, I still wasn't getting the quality I wanted, and no matter what I did, I couldn't get parts to stop warping. I felt like I was genuinely going insane, as I had poured hours upon hours of work into making it "better."

I got my i3 MK3S kit last weekend, and after 4 days of on and off assembly, I can confidently say that the price of this machine is heavily justified. I got the print quality I wanted immediately, and switching between materials is incredibly straightforward.

Thank you Josef Prusa and the entire Prusa Team for creating a magnificent printer. I won't be buying a non-Prusa printer ever again.

Unpacked, built, started, worked!

Building this 3d printer kit is a real experience. The detailed manual will guide you step by step through the process and leaves no room for guesses.

After building this printer, I started the first prints and they finished with no problems.

Since then, I started printing parts for the enclosure, then tools, holders - small and large items in PLA and PETG (Prusament) and had no single failure or problem.

Good printer, but I recommend the assembled version

Ordered the kit and definitely must say it was exciting and partly fun to build it. I've only build computers before so this was a challenge! But according to the calibration afterwards I was doing it pretty precisely.

However, I must say it's really annoying to get the nuts in the 3D printed parts sometimes. It's much better if they are loose. The screw pull technique sadly doesn't work everytime, so only my hammer was able to get it in the nut trap (be very careful though!). All the metal parts were relatively easy and straightforward to assemble! If the 3D printed parts were already prepared, this would have been really easy! I can understand that they want to save money and stuff, but seriously, if I knew this before I'd have ordered the fully assembled version.

After assembling (took me about two days, because I wanted to be very very careful) the calibration was pretty much straightforward! Sadly, I'm still no 3d printer expert, so I wasn't sure if I was doing everything correct...I did what the manual and the handbook said, calibration was alright but it still didn't print correctly.

It took me some tries and I had to readjust the PINDA sensor a few times which was a hassle because of the 3d printed part, but I think it's now relatively going well, even though there are some issues with the first layers sometimes and I'm struggling to identify the issue. I doubt it's the printer's fault though.

My old 3d printer was having similar issues, so I hope I'll be able to solve these.

The first correct print was in good quality, similar to what my Monoprice Voxel did. I just hope this printer lasts longer. All of the security measures are definitely a pro, and the specs itself are better than other printers.

Anyway, because of the quality of the 3d printed parts for the printer itself I cannot give 5 stars, but it's really incredible how nice everything works, even if a noob like me builds it.

The "fire-and-forget" printer

This will be a short review. I started with a mistake by buying the rough textured sheet with the kit instead of the smooth one. As I mostly print PLA, I had lots of issues with prints getting loose and the problems resulting of that. Since I noticed that this was a mistake and I ordered the smooth one, prints stick like hell and I now can start prints and walk away, letting the machine run for days without being concerned. It's just great. So - please do better than me and read the description of the two sheets, so you can pick the correct one - or order both.

Mechanical Junk, Electronics and software are great

Crappy 3d printed structural pieces come warped and only degrade over time. Extruder would jam all of the time because of this.

    Took my 3D Printing To A New Level!

    I purchased my MK3S Kit after seeing a few prints from a friend that had one. Now that I’ve completed the assembly and have been printing like a madman for several days, here’s the key value points:

    ASSEMBLY (Kit vs Built): I didn’t have many issues assembling this kit. There are several opportunities for making mistakes, but if you actually read and follow the steps you will be fine. I spent about 12 hours of actual assembly. It requires only a basic mechanical skill. If you’ve done other DIY projects around your home with screws, nuts, etc. you’ll be fine. More important is patience and attention to detail. The included manual is great, but I used the online one as they update that more frequently, and you can see additional pictures you can zoom in when you need clarification.

    INITIAL SETUP: The setup routine is quite easy to follow and complete. It does most of the tasks you’ve traditionally had to do manually (bed level, X/Y/Z calibration, hotend and bed temp tests, etc.) I ran in to a few issues when calibrating the bed level where the nozzle would grab the paper. As documented in their manual, the PINDA needed adjustment. I’ve had to do this twice and in both cases I had to adjust the Z level during the first layer calibration to about -0.600 to get a decent smoosh, but once set there’s few cases you’ll need to adjust it.

    PRINT QUALITY: I’ve printed about 15 objects by now trying out Prusament PLA (came with printer), PETG, ASA, and a few non-Prusament PLAs. The Prusament gives the quality of premium filament at nearly the cost of standard filament. Other filament worked fine, but you’ll need to calibrate the temp and flow rates for best results. The removable/flexible sheet makes print removal a ‘snap’, Layer lines are less noticeable that anything I’ve printed before. In fact, I don’t have to sand these prints.

    PROS: Well-documented assembly instructions, solid design and quality components, Removable/flexible steel print surfaces, easy/automated setup, flexible produces quality prints with less effort and tweaking, great support/community, most replacement parts are printable. Great Prusa Sc1cer software, larger print area than most in this price range.

    CONS: PINDA Sensor is ‘touchy’ to get the right height, ‘stealth’ mode isn’t all that quiet, (kit) assembly may lead to gummy-bear addiction.

    SUMMARY: This printer is better than I expected for the price. I’d recommend it as an intermediate (or step-up) printer for anyone with basic 3D printing knowledge. Overall quality is great and it’s a feature-packed printer. As most parts are printed, replacement parts are easy to obtain. Their customer service is great (I had a Chat about my order), and there’s a large support community. Firmware and Sl1cer updates replace the need for new hardware and boards (or printer).

    Better Than My Expen$ive Printers

    I print production parts. I bought my first 3D printer in 2011 for ~US$3500 - a BFB 3D Touch with three extruders. It worked pretty well, so I bought two more. Then along came the Lulzbot Taz 6, which cost ~US$2500. I bought one and it outperformed the BFB, so I bought another Taz 6 and a Taz Mini (version 1). After that, I bought an Ultimaker 3 -- another $3500 machine. I was reluctant to buy a Prusa for just one stupid reason -- all my previous printers used 3mm filament, and if I bought a 1.75mm printer I'd need to stock up on another assortment of filaments. But I finally bit the bullet and bought a i3 MK3S kit (and also the MMU2S and a bunch of 1.75mm filament), and was amazed at how much better, faster, easier it printed. The flexible print sheet part removal so much easier! So I bought a second i3 MK3S kit. All my production parts are now printed on my Prusa printers. My Prusas worked perfectly from the start. I can see that this would be a great printer for someone starting out with 3D printing, as well as producing high quality prints for someone like me who has been selling products using 3D printed parts for about 8 years. I highly recommend the i3 MK3S. And I just put in my order for the Prusa Mini.


      Absolutely worth it, 100%, no questions

      Got the kit, assembled in ~6-7 hours total. Manual was very easy to follow and comments/pictures online also helped when I was unsure. First time building a 3D printer myself and came the other side without fear of something not done right. First print after automated calibration came out perfect (PLA), everything after came out perfect. Super easy to use, extremely high quality results even on large/long prints. Works great with PrusaSlice and Simplify3D. Successful as well with PETG, not a single problem. Works great and very stable with Octoprint as well, unlike some other printers like MP SelectMini I had before.

      I had on my 4th print an extruder jam caused by a model that had too many small features at 0.1mm layer height, which allowed heat creep. Followed disassembly instruction on KB, was up in running again in 30 minutes. PTFE tube was totally jammed/filled. THERE WERE SPARE PTFE TUBES IN THE BOX! Cannot believe that everything that needs a spare has multiple spares. There is not
      a more turnkey printer kit than this.

      You cannot regret buying this printer. You will learn a ton about how it works, it prints fast, quiet and very smooth, and KB/support are awesome. Highly recommended.

      Very good and reliable printer

      After using over 10 different 3d printers, including various methods, including FFF. This one easily beats them all. I'm taking into consideration some top brands like HP, Ultimaker, Stratasys. There's no way to beat the value and quality of Prusa for me. Big up and hope to see and buy more from these lovely Czech peeps :)
