FLEXIBLE PRINT SHEETS

Removing a print has never been easier! With the magnetic heatbed and removable spring steel sheets, you can remove a printed object merely by bending the steel sheet. The surface is easy to maintain and comes in two variants: smooth and textured.

ONE-CLICK PRINTING

Once you insert a USB drive with a sliced object, a new menu with an object preview window appears. Confirm the selection with a single click of the control wheel and watch the printer do the rest for you.

GEARED EXTRUDER

To decrease the weight of the extruder, we moved the extruder motor on the Z-axis column. Using a 3:1 drive gear ratio, the printer pushes the 1.75 filament strand through a PTFE tube into the hotend and through the 0.4mm nozzle.

32BIT CONTROLLER STM32

Another!

I have been printing with a Prusa I3 MK3S since March of 2019 and have had nothing but good things to say about it. There have been few issues (really nothing more than clogged nozzles and a wire I damaged when changing one of those).

I've had my MINI for about three weeks now. It took me roughly an hour from the time I cracked the tape on the box until I was adjusting the Z-calibration. Watching the assembly video before starting was definitely helpful. I don't know if I would have been able to figure out where to put all the cabling without it.

The color LCD interface is an excellent improvement over the Mk3S. Its smaller build plate can still handle something like 90% of the STL's I had acquired to use with the MK3S. I'm very much looking forward to managing the printer remotely over the network as that functionality becomes available.

Since I got it built, I have barely given the little guy a moment's rest, and it has risen to the challenge. I am getting excellent quality with no tuning required from the stock settings in PrusaSlicer. I like it so much that I am already considering ordering a second one.

If you are looking for a first printer look no further. Amazing Print quality. I do have so much fun with it. My first 3D printer and it worked right from the start. Thanks Prusa!

working well for a beginner

The Prusa Mini is my first 3d Printer and it works really well for me.
Up until now I printed with PLA and PETG and changed the nozzle from 0.4 to 0.25 and back to 0.4 without problems.

First FDM Printer

This is my first FDM printer and I love it. Hit print, walk away, come back when it's done with no problems. Reliable and great prints. Planning on buying another Prusa.

My First Prusa

I have to say it was one surprise after another with this machine. A little backround. I have 4 3D printers at present. My first was a Tevo Tarantula, (the old version...); second worst printer I've had. The next one i got was a Flashforge Creater Pro. Overpriced and with a smaller build plate than the mini but almost 3x the cost. Then i purchased the Tronxy X5S. I somewhat knew what i was getting into as i was tired of having a small printer. I wanted something with some serious build volume. 7 months later and hundreds of dollars in upgrades, it's printing ok. The good thing is it prints consistently now. I also purchased a Pxmalion Core i3 which was a piece of junk.

And then there's the Prusa Mini. Holy crap. I opened it to find two things. One, there was a face mask included to showcase how i could help with the pandemic effort. Then there was the stickers.....I yelled like a little girl as i grabbed my favorite bottle and added a new addition to my collection. We guys in the armory tend to like to decorate our bubba bottles and hydroflasks with stickers so it made me really happy.

The build was a piece of cake and i was surprised by the excellent quality. My first print had issues as the printer seemed to be losing its home and started grinding against the frame. A quick firmware update fixed that no problem and i was off to my first benchy with the beautiful filament included.

That benchy is going to the grave with me as it is just so beautiful.

I would 100% recommend this to everyone i know.

An amazing prusa for an amazing price!

This is my second prusa, I also have the mk3s.
The prusa mini prints just as nice, if not better then the mk3s. The only disadvantage is the smaller build volume which in most cases won't be that much of a problem. I would definately recommend this printer!

A great printer, but definitely has significant bugs

I am one of the first people to get the Prusa Mini and have had it for a few weeks now (it was delivered Mid-December). Assembly was mostly painless, and calibration was easy. I ran some first prints using the included sample filament, and the quality was superb. I was thrilled: Great quality, easy assembly, everything was great that night.

The next day, I tried some low-quality cheap generic PLA I had on hand. It printed the first several layers, and then jammed. I tried the included sample stuff on a different, larger model and no problems. I decided, oh well, probably was my cheap generic PLA. I then ordered some Hatchbox PLA on Amazon, which is generally well-received online as a good filament.

Lo and behold, I tried printing with Hatchbox and still had the exact same problems. Constant jamming. Included Prusament? No problems whatsoever. I gave in and ordered some Prusament, and wondered what to do with my Hatchbox.

It turned out I wasn't alone, and that Prusa's manufacturing line had botched the extruder assembly. I followed some instructions posted by forum members and raised the extruder and MINDA probe, and tried to recalibrate. Because the forum members had not made a video (and Prusa hadn't done much to respond), I set my MINDA probe too high and dented my new steel sheet on this printer. I then set my MINDA probe much lower, recalibrated, and I could finally print my Hatchbox and Generic Filament.

For a few days, at least. Then, all of a sudden, my calibration was off and I was having problems. Turns out the MINDA probe's wiring had an internal fracture because the factory made the zip ties too tight, and I wasn't alone with this problem. Free replacement, but it was out for a week... during Christmas (which was disappointing).

So, a few days ago, got new MINDA probe, had to carefully cut the excessively tight zip ties, and had to undo all of the careful wiring and wire wrapping that the factory had done. I then ordered new zip ties, which will arrive today. I also then printed the "MINDA saver" and "Prusa Mini Hotend Stress Reliever" parts from Thingiverse and installed those, where (I hope) that this will prevent the MINDA probe wiring from snapping again.

And while I'm at it, another factory problem: I recently bought a nice and fairly expensive wood tabletop. Someone at the factory screwed the mainboard in too tight, and because the control box is flush to the surface (while the rest of the printer is on rubber feet), it scratched up my new wooden tabletop quite badly, as it only takes a bump to scratch. I guess I'll have to sand it down, but still!

And while I'm at this all: The Y-axis bearing has begun to squeak. It's not the bearing itself, but rather it's too close to the PETG frame and is rubbing against it. I guess I'll have to file that down to stop the squeaking.

So, I guess my thoughts are: I've had lots of paper cut frustrations with this first run. The printer itself works great (thus the 4 stars) and is otherwise reliable and of excellent build quality. Still, the MINDA probe breaking, denting my new steel sheet, and scratching my desk is frustrating, and Prusa not making videos about how to fix these problems (so we have to rely on the community) is irritating. I would not have dented my steel sheet if Prusa had quickly made a video on the problem or been more involved with the fix.

Overall: It's a great printer, but manufacturing needs work. I guess it's a first run, but I was hoping for a little better.
