Original Prusa i3 MK2/S to MK2.5S upgrade kit

But if you want the full MK3S upgrade anyway, no problem! You can find it here.

Outstanding.

Prusa continue their tradition of providing the clearest and most comprehensive set of instructions possible so, if you're fairly handy with a screwdriver or have built one of these before you have nothing to worry about. An extra pair of hands for a couple of jobs makes life a lot easier but other than that this is as straight forward as you would expect.

Four and a half hours later my Mk2 had become an Mk2.5S. I'm halfway through printing the new spool holder and so far its running brilliantly!

Thank you Josef + Team :)

HIGHLY Recomended

I had a MK2S and finally decided to upgrade to mk2.5s, and I was amazed with powder coated spring sheets, it works like magic. And I really appreciate the Bondtech extruder gears, I can now change filament without using Allen keys : ) awesome, this is best Upgrade to my Old Mk2s it is really worth it.

perfect Upgrade!

I can recommend this upgrade to anyone. It's much more fun to print with the different sheets, the new noctua fan is much quieter and the filament sensor makes printing more secure.
Also, the upgrade process is relatively quick and you can service the printer a little.

Renew my printer

The Mk3 came out about 6 months after I bought my Mk2 and I was jealous of the removable bed. Prusa is such a popular printer that there was a serious backlog on upgrade parts. Finally in 8/19 I was able to purchase the upgrade kit.

Prusa is top notch, it took me by surprise that I had to print the parts which I'd hoped not to have to do lacking the removable bed, but that's how you save money on this kit right? Printing the parts was the worst part, without the removable bed my prints had adhered really strongly to the bed, it took much coaxing to get the parts to come free without damage, but eventually I got them off. It took a mix of water and alcohol on the bed and sequential heating and cooling of the bed to get them free.

Disassembly and assembly were a breeze. I took my time and went over each step very carefully so it probably took me longer than others to finish the job, but as soon as I ran the calibration wizard everything worked as it was supposed to. I've yet to print anything large enough to need the spring bed, but I'm looking forward to doing one.

My printer sounds a little different during a print, not by a lot but by enough to know this is a different printer from the one I started with. I really feel like I have a brand new printer with (almost) all the bells and whistles of the Mk3.

I like my Prusa so much I've ordered a mini. LIke before demand is so strong I probably won't get it for another 3 or 4 months, but I'm confident it'll be worth the wait.

Great Upgrade from an original MK2

I was having major calibration problems with my old mk42 heatbed (kept failing to find point 9). Figured it was some sort of failure with the bed as it was as square as possible.

This kit was an inexpensive way to get a new heatbed and get some new features. The instructions were easy to follow and my printer is now back up and running smoothly. Thankfully I had another printer to print the petg parts needed.

Just do it!

I upgraded from the MK2/s to the MK2.5S and it is worth every cent! Particularly since the price dropped by 50 EUR it is even more attractive. The upgrade is done within one day and ir is lot of fun! The result is stunning, everything runs smooth and even better than with the MK2/S. So many improvements such as the autoload of filament, the new PEI steel sheet, a new extruder design etc. There is a perfect upgrade guide, all is so well thought through. Just do it!

Fantastic Upgrade if you have the MK2/S

I bought the original MK2/S in 2017. This upgrade made the printer so much quieter and my prints are even better with the new extruder printed parts and powder coated sheet. Do yourself a favour and upgrade to this version for cheaper! Love Prusa!

Worth every cent!

The PEI sheet on my Mk2s was starting to show signs of wear, so I went with the Mk2.5 upgrade package instead of just getting a new PEI sheet. Worth every cent! The upgrade process went along without issues, and it took me about 3 hours and 3 cups of coffee to complete. The Noctua hotend fan makes it quieter, the flexible bed makes it easy to get prints off and the new X-axis parts bump up print quality and thermals compared to the stock Mk2s hotend.

Best Upgrade I have done so far.

I bought this upgrade so I can use the MMU2.0, but so happy with the upgrades, from the powdered coated spring sheet to the optical filament sensor. Not sure which parts made it run quieter, but it is. Prints are coming out smooth and better looking than before. Documentation was great and the added comments from others is a nice touch. Just remember to print your new parts first! Time well invested on my printer. Only had to back track once on some wiring I routed wrong, I recommend this for anyone with a Mk2s.
