I’m getting air printing, bondtech extruder clicking part way through a print. If I unload and load again it’s fine and prints for a while then starts clicking again. I’ve noticed as well on a certain file it prints fine on the first S3D process 0.2mm 45mm/s but after a couple of hours in when it goes to the second process which is 0.15mm and slower the extruder clicks.

I think I found out more!

Due to the way the filament is stored its curved when unwrapped for usage (pulled into the nozzle). This curvature is enough to cause the filament to press against the side of the nozzle instead of leaving it centred.

I managed to improve on this issue by a lot by using a bowden tube of about 1 meter. This reduces the curvature of the filament. Be sure that the tube connects straight to your printer and not at an angle.
