Stringing internally: So is this the new slicer 1.4, the model or something else?

Tue Jul 10, 2018 10:35 pm

I have made by first big print on my MK3 it was the "Fillenium Malcon Easy Print Remix"

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2815721

So the print went ok, but I had internal stringing in one part of the print with lots of filament pieces that we in the inside of the print. The print was made with no-fill which is suggested on thingverse so not problem their.

Funny if this had happen on my first printer (Mk3 is my second) I think the print would have crashed. Take a look have you seen this before?

I am using the new sclicer 1.4.1 and it did seem to print the layer with lots of moving around from side-to-side and left to right.

Yes I have been using PLA. The spool that was sent by prusa with the printer. I will be getting some PETG soon from matterhackers. No plug they just are 5km from my house.

But once you finally get it dialled in it is an excellent material for mechanical parts.

about your stringing issus,
Is the external print OK where there is string into the model?
so the slicer was Prusa3D Slic3r MK3?
And when you say nofill this mean you set fill density to 100%?
Is there overhanging where the stringing issus appear?

PETG printing is most difficult :x
Then you haven't tried nylon

The external print looks good no issues on the outside.
No infill I mean 0% no internal supports. As you can see the model is hollow.

There are alot of 45deg overhangs in this parts Most seems to be ok. The problem seem like the pusa has a problem and just extruded filiment. Might be the gcode, but this has 200 makes and not comments on this issue. So I was wonding if the new slicer, or crash detection. I looked, no crashes in the LCD stat display.

I would print with minimal infill. This can provide a bit more surface area for the perimeters to bond to. Infill is between the perimeters, support is outside the perimeters. also the overlap of the infill to the perimeter can be increased slightly to further add bond.

I'll take your nylon and raise you some carbon fiber strands.
