Firmware 3.5.1-FINAL for Original Prusa i3 MK3

Dec 20, 2018 1:12 pm

Hi guys,
new firmware 3.5.1-FINAL is out! This is a final release recommended to all users 8-)

What is new?

Summary:
- Button click fix
- M220 speed factor
- Z-levelling fix (MK3)
- Pause print -> stop print fix

Detailed description of changes:

Button click fix
The function for button press evaluation and debouncing was modified in previous firmware version to make the code more accessible for the future. However, this code improvement introduced a bug which could cause that some fullscreen messages which waited for the user to press the button were skipped. This has been fixed.

M220 speed factor
On multi-material printers, speed factor is currently set to 100 % before filament change by Slic3r PE. This ensures that filament change will proceed with defined speed and thus higher reliability.
There is now a possibility to save and restore speed factor on MK2.5 and MK3 printers using the following G-codes:
M220 Sxxx sets speed factor
M220 B sets backups current speed factor
M220 Sxxx B sets speed factor and backups current speed factor
M220 R restore saved speed factor
These M-codes are the same as on MK2 printers with Firmware 3.1.0 and allows Slic3r PE to backup speed factor set by the user (by rotating the knob on the printer) before filament change and then to restore is when filament change if finished. This will fix issues #1364 and #1208.

Z-levelling fix (MK3)
Z-levelling function introduced in previous Firmware 3.5.0 could repeatedly fail (X-axis staying at the top with a message "Some problem encountered, Z-leveling enforced ...") on MK3 printers under certain conditions. This has been fixed.

Pause print -> stop print fix
Stopping paused print could lead to behaviour when some movements were missing during new print or first layer calibration. This has been fixed.

No fix to :

As so many people saw it and it was clearly something introduced in 3.5, I assume it would be fixed.. But its not mentioned in the release log.

Have Prusa even acknowledged its an issue?

I updated the firmwire on my MK3 and the final notice from the Slicr updater was that it is "unsuccessful". Yet, when I looked at the current firmwire in the printer i see that the update was indeed successful. How can it show new release firmwire in the printer if the update was unsuccessful?

Thanks. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas

Aman

I checked this thread and found myself to be having this very same problem, I cant print PC reliably anymore as a result of it, and it has cost me many grams of filament.
Please address this issue soon!

Me too my temp work around id to be sure I select a Temp that is high enough that a drop pf 10c wont clog the extruder but the temp changes can be seen in PLA that is glossy like Polyalchemy Elixir where how glossy it is can be adjusted with extrusion temperature.

I too am having this issue... when it happens however, I sometimes get a pre-heat error, and then the entire print is failed. I sat here wand watched it. Temp held at 228 for about 20 minutes, then rapidly dropped to 217, then back up to 220... it never rose back up to 228... I switched my thermistor and heat element on the off chance one was bad... Nope! They're both new!. same issue....

have any of you checked github?
have any of you logged an issue on git?

if not, why would you suspect it had been noticed and or fixed? The only things that get fixed are the things that get logged on git.
this is a user forum, no one is patrolling here for firmware issues. report the issues in the right place and they will get fixed.
