Re: Buying used Prusa MK3

Hi Henrry,

being open source should not be a problem for you.
if you need spares you can buy direct from Prusa or a reseller

it's an advantage that other people can use the open source information, for their benefit

Re: M600 and filament change

that is the way Marlin works, the squirt is intended to ensure the nozzle is primed... if you change the filament., RESIST the temptation to pluck the waste off the nozzle, instead, simply hold the waste with your long nose pliers, and click to say the colour is clear,,, then the printer will give i...

Re: Mk 2.5 extruder skipping not printing

Hi Merrill,

are you using the standard Prusa, Slic3r profiles?
if so, try reducing the retraction to say 0.6mm, or 0.4mm

Re: Powdercoated PEI Sheet Surface Prep

Hi Randy,

for TPU and PETG, windex should do the job,
Alternatives,
1, Talcum Powder, rubbed well in and surplus removed.
2, Finger grease/ forehead grease, rubbed well in..
3, Gluestick, rubbed in with moist cloth to prevent clumping, and visible streaks.

Re: Adjusting For Different Beds - Am I Missing Something

Hi Allen, you don't need to do the whole re-calibration, changing live Z should be all that's needed for a simple print surface change! it's always wise to back off live Z, on a new surface, before trying live Z calibration, just in case the previous live Z would result in a nozzle crash on the new ...

Re: Nozzle approaches closer to the bed when it moves along the x-axis

it's possible that your Z axis motors have got out of balance. turn your printer on wait until you can see the normal screen display press and hold the LCD control button until you see Z: +000.0 release the button ant turn it until the X axis reaches the top of it's travel. One side may reach the to...

Re: Easily Stripped Parts

Good Morning James,

what did you try to torque to 40 lb-in?

as far as I can see, 3mm screws should be tightened to about 0.8 ft-lb which would be about 9 in-lb max
and that would be metal to metal, plastic would be lower
